Going back to my day job tomorrow and it is very difficult for me to get anything accomplished on those weeks because of the long hours. I still have some major home repairs to make. My garage doors need repair to make it through the winter. I have some trim around the windows to do also. And, lets not forget weeding. Lots of weeding. I did get all the tropicals repotted and ready to go indoors. Yes, one friend said to me “just think of the time you would have if you didn’t have plants, cats and fish to take care of.” Then I wouldn’t be me. These are my family.
I’m in the middle of Chapter Nineteen. I printed out Chapter Eighteen to read at the next Scribes meeting. They listen and give me feedback and suggestions. They are excellent editors. I’m hoping to have Chapter Nineteen ready to go for the meeting also. Lincoln and his friends are preparing for trial, though no one has been indicted for the murder. The charges thus far are related to the riot itself with both sides being charged.
In real life, Lincoln was actually very effected by the murder. He was very much against mob violence and felt it could bring down the country. He was already a state politician and lawyer at this time, 1837-38. Because of this case and the dangers he saw inherent in it, he gave his first public speech.
Good luck getting everything done!
