Back on Track (Again)

Well, I rewrote chapter sixteen. Don’t know if I will ever locate the original one, but I’m back to Chapter Seventeen today and the Faneuil Hall speech by Wendell Phillips. I’m excited to be on the last leg of this long journey that has been this novel. I’m not a fast writer. I actually do write fairly fast but I have so much else going on in my life, like dating and working a day job, and children and grandchildren, and I love holidays. You get the picture. I’d like to be faster and devote more of myself to writing and art and I hope to do that in the future.

I will be going back to my goal of a scene a day starting today. Yesterday I wrote about three scenes. I’ve already written 1.5 scenes of Chapter Seventeen. I also want to start thinking about how to get the word out about my writing projects. Some of my writing friends have given me ideas and I’ve signed up for some programs like Canva. So it’s time to learn how to make these things work for me. I’ll make a list of what I want to try and go at it. If I’m successful, you will the fruits of my labor around on social media.

I’m also hoping to meet with more family and friends on my vacation time and decorate for Halloween. I’ve been to one fall festival and plan to go to another in Indianapolis. I might (might) try to have a low-key Halloween party here at the house. We’ll see. I try not to overcommit myself these days. I hope you all take a little time for yourselves to enjoy the seasons before we get into the terrible rush that is Thanksgiving and Christmas.
