Chapter Sixteen

I’m not really sure what happened to Chapter Sixteen. In one of my outlines there were two Chapter Sixteens. At any rate, it doesn’t seem to be here. So, I need to quickly write it because my writer’s meeting is tomorrow. In this Chapter we see the effect of the murder on the country. Lincoln also because involved with a woman, therefore it’s a pretty exciting chapter.

The other good news is that I have three weeks off work. I have other work than writing, such as finishing up the garden and bringing in the last of the plants but should still have a lot of writing time. I would like to decorate for Halloween and get into the holiday spirit.

With only 6 or seven chapters ahead of me, I’ve begun thinking about what next. I anticipate finishing the rough draft by the end of the year, then taking a couple of months to rewrite with publication in the spring. In the meantime, I hope to do more research and decide on my next Lincoln or even a short story. I have some other ideas for historical mysteries that wouldn’t be part of this series. I see myself as a historical writer of mainly mysteries because I like the mystery format. Maybe I will write about that in the next blog. See you then.
