Clean Up

I have been taking a couple of weeks off from my blog and writing. It’s probably been close to two months since I have written. The holidays strike again. After my Thanksgiving I had to work, leaving things at the house rather a mess. I am now on a 3 week break from work. I have cleaned up all the dishes from Thanksgiving and thrown out most of the leftovers that didn’t get eaten. Still have a few to get rid of.

Last week I ran around to all the local Christmas festivities: gingerbread festival, festival of the trees, botanical gardens, Swinney Homestead tea. This week I am decorating and putting up the trees. I have the Scribes (writers group) Christmas party tomorrow. There will be no readers, just good fellowship. So that is where my focus is. It comes and goes so quickly.

However, I have been working on genealogy, which I believe I mentioned here before. I’m very involved in that was well. I found a stash of photos and memories of long ago relatives. Some of the relatives I remember put these out there on Family Search genealogy website, so it was a delight to find them. I remembered my cousin Wayne had worked on it but I didn’t know he made it available to everyone. I’m trying to continue that by also placing everything on WikiTree. It is interesting to me to see where I come from and all that went into who we are today.

Happy holidays. I will try to be back on Thursday.
