Welcome back. Hope everyone had a delightful weekend. Except for the lack of rain, it has been very good weather. We have had the longest draught here that I can remember. It was pretty dry last year but not as bad as this. I continue to try to get the gardens done. Lots of weeding to do but the weeds are dying back some. The pond is coming along. The new liner and steps are in. The new skimmer box and pump have yet to be hooked up. The piping should arrive today.
And writing? you ask. Yes, I did some and plan to write more tomorrow. I’ve another week before the next writer’s meeting but I expect to get way ahead of that. I probably have enough now to read. I’m trying to line up some readers for the final draft and how to get the manuscript to them. I prefer printed pages. It’s easier to mark the suggested changes/improvements. The writing is pretty clean at this point. It’s very exciting to finally be at this point with the book.
I haven’t done much research yet to decide on the next book, which will be shorter. I plan for the current book to be the longest. I have the first book in the series finished, though I plan another rewrite of it, too. When the pond and garden are finished for the year, I should be able to pick up pace on the other things I want to do. I’m also doing a lot of cleaning.
I feel very good about the current book. From the feedback I get, it’s amazing. Its an intimate, well-research book from Abraham Lincoln’s prospective, during a few months of his life in 1837.
Hope you all have a wonderful week.
