I know, I know. It’s late in the day but at least I’m keeping in touch. It’s the day before the writer’s meeting and here I am preparing to write again. More and more is getting figured out about the pond. The first time it was put in someone else put it in and I didn’t really understand how it functioned but now I do. I’ve been working a lot on it. I have some people I met at work helping me. They are emptying the pond of all it’s stones. I’ve ordered new parts. The liner is already here. Waiting on the new skimmer box. Today, I was with a friend drawing out a sketch of the pond and how all its parts will go together. I’m correcting most of the things that were wrong with the first pond.
I’m moving the pump and skimmer box to a location where it will be easier for me to maintain. Hopefully, I’m fixing the leak it always had that prevented me from using the pump to circulate the water. I’m going to put in a place where I can more easily get down into the pond for maintenance and hoping to make the stone walk around the pond more complete so I can reach all the areas easier. I’m using better, stronger materials so it will hold up longer. It should be a better pond than ever when finished.
But enough about ponds. Most of you probably don’t care. I have a 3 week break from work. Hence the title. I’m hoping to be able to work a lot on writing and publishing projects. Also housecleaning. I never get as much done as I hope to, but lets wait and see. Today is my first day off. I visited with friends, one of whom, will be leaving town for a bit, and now I’ll spend the rest of the day rewriting. The rewrite continues. As I said before I have already marked into the outline the changes I want to make, so this process should go fairly fast.
A friend sent a video on a color photo of Lincoln and a secret group of men charged with keeping him safe. Obviously, that didn’t work out. I don’t know if the photo or story are real. I’ll have to do more research into it. But everyone loves a good Lincoln story.
See all on Thursday.
