Rainy Day

It is a rainy day here in Fort Wayne. I spent the weekend visiting my sister in Indianapolis. It was the first time I have seen since the death of her husband. She is getting along as well as can be expected. We went to the art museum and gardens at Newfield’s. It was only my second visit there. They have a modest art collection. Toured the Lily House, walked the grounds and enjoyed the art museum. I recommend it if you are in the area.

I wrote the second scene of the final chapter and began the final scene. It is odd to be finishing something that took so many years of one’s life to write. In part this was due to my working so many hours at the hospital and working so much around my house. It is a beautiful house and yard, though. It also has a lot to recommend it. There is still so much I would like to do, though. I’m feeling inspired. I hope to do some more writing this week. It is the final week of my staycation. It would be nice if I just finished this rough draft. A friend has consented to line edit it for me. I’m very excited about finishing this project and beginning another.

My other projects continue. I keep making progress in the garage and it gets closer and closer to becoming what I want another library for my books. Some of my books have had a rough life. Some are quite old and owned by previous family members that died before I was born.

I have found a new travel companion, my nephew. He is only 13 but the size of an adult. He will accompany me on at least a few trips. We shall explore the world. Our first trip will be later next month and I’m very excited about that too. We shall see from there how it goes. He told me he would remember this trip the rest of his life, and that wouldn’t surprise me. I remember being a young traveler myself.

I hope to recall how to add photos and illustrations to my posts and start using them soon. It all just takes time.
