Work is done for another week. I read tomorrow at the writer’s meeting, so it’s time to write again. I doubt I can finish this chapter today, 22, but I will get more done, and maybe…
I’m still gardening. My kitchen is still filled with iris. I’m a big lover of iris, which I think I mentioned before, and am a member of HIPS, the historical iris preservation society, also a Guardian Gardener, which means I am dedicated to preserving rare and endangered iris. I’m hoping this will be my last week of planting and digging iris. It’s getting a bit late for it. But I will still be weeding, trimming bushes and touching up the paint on the outside of my house in September and October.
I’m so close to the end of this book! It has 24 planned chapters. Then I will begin the rewrite. My reading was successful last time, and the group seemed to think I was headed in the right direction with the courtroom scene. What am I doing differently? I’m summarizing more, skipping over some things, just hitting the highlights, and keeping it more in Lincoln’s perspective.
I wish I had more time for other writing projects, like Ed’s stuff, my website, and finishing up my novella for publication. I’m hoping this fall will prove the time. We’ll see. I have to work to earn a living and my job is stressful and demanding. But it pays for the cat food and litter.
Time to enjoy life.
Even with all of your gardening, you’re making good progress. Your last chapter was really good!
