The End of Summer

Too hot for me. I’m ready to be done with summer. It wasn’t a good summer. Toward the end of May we had some effects at work that were the result of new management at the top that can make life an adjustment. My father also started having a lot of health problems and was in the hospital and rehab repeatedly. My best friend has been sick all year but especially this summer, so I haven’t seen or talked to her in months and have been quite worried. A couple of other relatives are also sick.

All the above got me away from writing. I’m back reading at writer’s meeting, which helps me check to see if I’m headed in the right direction. I read this last Wednesday, and the listeners seemed to feel I was working the courtroom scene better. The first time I think I was detailing it out too much. Chapter Twenty-one is a really good chapter, I think. Chapter-twenty-two is the once I’m working on now and the second courtroom scene in the book.

My ambition is always greater than what I’m able to achieve. My kitchen is full of iris that need to be planted. I keep saying I’m not going to get anymore then I do. I’ve got 3 award-winning Dykes gardens weeded and two of them replanted. I didn’t have a good iris year in 2024 because the iris all need lifting. They are too deep. I can’t life them all in a year, so I will do the best I can and hope for improvement next year. I still have daylilies to weed and mulch as well. No way I can get it all done. The cats are not of much help.

That is my life for now. I will try to be more regular with my blog. It is my hope.
