It’s absolutely gorgeous outside in northern Indiana. What a day to try, try again. I’ve been sick. I had to pick up a lot of days at work and believe it weakened my system because I don’t get enough sleep when I work. But that is over now. I need to write, garden and clean house. I’m starting to feel better. But unfortunately, several of my family members are sick. My father is in the hospital and will need to go to Rehab. M stepmother is undergoing chemotherapy. I have a brother-in-law suffering a long debilitating illness. Life is never as simple as we want it to be. Seize the day!

My novel has a couple of courtroom trials at the near end which almost conclude the search for justice. I wrote this book intending for it to be a historical mystery and whether I succeeded in that or not, time will tell. I began wondering if it could be classified as a courtroom drama since the big showdown occurs in the courtroom. Lincoln is not personally involved in the trials, like he was in my previous novella, but he does attend the trials and gives us his interpretation. It is ultimately Lincoln, through his own actions, that brings about justice. I believe the search for justice is the goal in most mysteries.

Some may not give much information about their writing process or what they are working on week to week, but it is still a record of what they are doing even if they only talk about personal doings or books they are reading. It is a window into their lives as they write in silence or seclusion. I don’t talk much about books I am reading. Maybe I will in the future. I’m still determining who I’m going to be in this new world of writing and technology.
